Azita Ghanizada is an Afghan-American actress best known for her work in film and television and is the founder and president of the MENA Arts Advocacy Coalition.
After seeking political asylum, she became one of the first Afghan-American women to lead a U.S. televisions series—Alphas—and has since worked on United States of Al, Ballers, Good Trouble, and more. Azita is an outspoken activist and has not only worked tirelessly to advance MENA creatives in Hollywood, speaking publicly about representation and inclusion issues in the media, but is also a resounding voice for women’s rights in Afghanistan. Azita is committed to defending the hard-won freedoms of women and girls in Afghanistan and is honored to join Women for Women International as an Ambassador. Â
