Cynthia Currence serves as the Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Development at Women for Women International and is responsible for overseeing a team of highly experienced professionals focused on generating support and engagement with donors and advocates dedicated to empowering the most marginalized women in conflict zones around the world.
She is responsible for mass direct response marketing, external communications, and creating powerful relationships with global citizens, corporations and foundations to further the mission. Cynthia has deep experience in fund development and strategic marketing for nonprofit organizations with additional expertise in brand strategy development, strategic corporate alliances, sponsorship, and special populations engagement.
Prior to joining WfWI, she led engagement strategies for major corporations and with ultra-wealthy individuals at World Vision, and at the American Cancer Society as VP for international Marketing and Strategic Corporate Alliances. Cynthia also held senior roles at the United Way and also ran her own consulting business serving a variety of both profit and nonprofit clients and is a certified management consultant (CMC).
Cynthia earned her Masters in Education from The Citadel in Charleston, SC, and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.
