Djenita Svinjar

Djenita Svinjar is a Women for Women International’s U.S. Board of Advisors member.

Ms. Svinjar focuses her practice on assisting her commercial clients with drafting, review, and negotiation of multimillion dollar construction contracts and external general counsel matters. Ms. Svinjar began her legal career as In-House Counsel for one of the United States’s largest title insurance companies, providing legal support for title curative matters by way of claims resolution, litigation management, and foreclosure assistance for insured homeowners and sophisticated lenders alike. Afterwards, Ms. Svinjar spent several years as Corporate Counsel for one of the United States’ largest general contractors, assisting with various matters to include drafting, review, and negotiation of prime contracts using various methods of project delivery, resolution of mechanic’s lien disputes, and federal audit compliance for Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.

 

Ms. Svinjar is passionate about community involvement and serves on the boards of the Denver Chapter for the National Association of Women in Construction and the Law Committee of the Board of Law Examiners for the Colorado Supreme Court. She is also a member of the Future Leaders Forum for the Associated General Contractors of Colorado, Colorado’s leading professional association for the state’s commercial building industry.

 

Ms. Svinjar has a longstanding relationship with Women for Women International, originating with her Stand With Her commitment commencing in 2019 and her subsequent involvement as a Solidary Network Community Leader for the organization.

 

Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Svinjar arrived in the United States as a child refugee in 1994. She received her BA from St. Bonaventure University in New York and her JD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She resides in Denver, Colorado, with her husband, Charlie.
