Fran Bermanzohn most recently served as deputy general counsel of Goldman Sachs, where she was responsible for the trading, investment banking and merchant banking businesses. She served as a member of the Firmwide Capital Committee and the Firmwide Investment Policy Committee and member of the Partnership Committee. Fran joined Goldman Sachs in 1992 as a vice president and was named managing director in 1998 and partner in 2002.
Prior to joining the firm, Fran was senior vice president and general counsel at Public Securities Association from 1986 to 1991. She also worked at the law firms of Webster & Sheffield and Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo, where she specialized in structured credit transactions. Fran currently serves on the Boards of Trustees of the Brooklyn Academy of Music and DreamYard. She previously served on the boards of the Berklee College of Music, Brandeis University and Oxfam America.
Fran earned a B.A. from Brandeis University and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
