Nabila is a member of Women for Women International’s International Board.
Nabila Aguele is a lawyer, public policy professional, and gender equality advocate.  Most recently she served as a Special Adviser to Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, where she led on international development cooperation and performance management. Her work included the development and initial implementation of Nigeria’s Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) to achieve the SDGs (a pioneer achievement); and women’s economic and social empowerment through the advancement of gender-responsive fiscal policies and budgets.
A firm believer in the power of education and women’s empowerment to advance inclusive and sustainable development, Nabila serves on the Board of Directors for INSEAD Business School, and for Girl Rising, a global non-profit focused on girls’ education and empowerment.
Before moving to Nigeria to join the federal government, Nabila practiced law in the US, representing Fortune 500 companies in civil patent litigations. She also worked as a Practitioner-in-Residence and full-time faculty member at the American University Washington College of Law, and a Special Assistant Attorney General with the District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General. Â
Nabila holds a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, a Juris Doctor from the American University Washington College of Law, and an MBA from INSEAD. She is an acrylic artist and a mother to three vibrant children under 7.
